R & L Holt - Concordia students

Concordia students of both sexes from Eastern Europe make up most of the workforce at both of our nurseries.

Accommodation

5 a side football team.

Students are housed in a cottage at Sandylands Nurseries and in mobile homes at Hornsfield Nurseries. All the accommodation has separate bathroom, kitchen and living area. Students are provided with bed covers, and any cleaning materials needed to keep the accommodation clean and tidy. Both sites have a washing machine, tumble dryer and extra showers and toilets.

Leisure

Leisure facilities.

There is a five a side football team, called Sideshoots FC, which plays in a local league. Internet access, TV and DVD are provided on both nurseries.

At Hornsfield Nurseries there is also a basketball net, table football and table tennis available for students to use.

Each nursery has enough bicycles for all the students to use for exploring the local area.

Local area

G-SACH plane.

We try to arrange a trip to Alton Towers theme park each year. Many students like to visit Stratford upon Avon, Broadway and other parts of the Cotswolds. There is also an opportunity for a flight in Rick Holt’s two seater plane. Other trips and social events are also arranged throughout the year when possible.

Student profile

A typical student is Marek Studying at The Agricultural University of Lublin Agriculture Crops and Herbs.
He came to R & L Holt as he wanted to learn both about tomato picking and plant care, as well as experience a glasshouse and all its attendant systems.
Hobbies: Folk Dancing and Singing.
